Râmeț Gorges
≈ 25 km · 35 min by car
The Râmeț Gorges are about twenty-five kilometres from the guesthouse, in the Trascău Mountains. They are a nature reserve cut into limestone, nearly two kilometres long, with steep walls, stone towers, and arches.
The good part is the section fitted with chains and brackets. You cross it by climbing the rock and holding the cables, or, in the dry months, straight through the water. Each chain section, up to its anchor, takes one person at a time, so you go in turn.
The whole route, from the mouth of the gorge to the village of Cheia and back, takes four to six hours, depending on how long you stop for photos or a swim.
